Good Boys Red Band Trailer #2 Rips Seth Rogen a New One

We have a brand new red-band trailer for Good Boys. The upcoming, R-rated comedy stars Jacob Tremblay, Brady Noon and Keith L. Williams as a trio of young kids who are at a transitional period in their lives and, as much as people like to think of this as an innocent time in one's life, it's anything but innocent, an idea this trailer takes to the extreme. This movie, produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, looks to add a whole lot of good-natured filth to the coming of age genre.

The video kicks off, much like the first red-band trailer, with producer Seth Rogen telling the trio of young cast members that they can't watch the trailer for their own movie, since it's too raunchy. The boys then persist to explain that they've seen some of his inappropriate for kids movies, such as Superbad and Sausage Party. And they also decide to criticize said movies, right to Rogen's face, which leads the actor/writer/producer/director to verbally retaliate in hilarious fashion.

We then get into the actual trailer, which further asserts what has already been made clear in previous trailers; these good boys are absolutely bad, even if they're unwittingly bad. It is loaded down with language that would make Captain America blush, tons of wildly inappropriate situations that sixth-grade kids should not be in and over-the-top hijinks. As much as it feels like every joke in the movie has been thrown into this footage, as someone who has seen it, I can assure you, there is plenty more where this came from.

Good Boys centers on a group of best friends who have just been invited to their first kissing party. 12-year-old Max (Jacob Tremblay) is panic mode, as he doesn't know how to kiss. Eager to learn, he and his best friends Thor (Brady Noon) and Lucas (Keith L. Williams) decide to use Max's dad's drone to spy on a teenage couple making out next door. Unfortunately, things go terribly wrong when the drone is destroyed. The boys must try to replace it before Max's dad gets home, leading them to skip school and set off on an adventure filled with epically bad decisions that involve accidentally stolen drugs, frat-house paintball, and running from both the cops.

The cast also includes Molly Gordon, Lil Rel Howery, Will Forte and Midori Francis. Gene Stupnitsky is in the director's chair, working from a script he co-wrote alongside Lee Eisenberg. The movie debuted earlier this year at SXSW, where it was met with solid praise. As of this writing, it currently holds a 78 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. We'll have an interview with the cast and filmmakers coming your way soon. In the meantime, be sure to check out the new trailer from the Universal Pictures YouTube channel for yourself. Good Boys is set to arrive in theaters on August 16.
