The Irishman Trailer Arrives, Martin Scorsese Reunites with Robert De Niro & Joe Pesci

Director Martin Scorsese's new movie The Irishman stars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino and is all set to open the New York Film Festival before hitting theaters and then Netflix later this year. To say that the new gangster movie by Martin Scorcese is much-anticipated doesn't really do it justice. But all the same, today we have the teaser trailer for you to behold.

The Irishman is an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century. Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.

Fans of Martin Scorsese gangster movies from Goodfellas to Casino will notice that The Irishman keeps at the style and violence we've all come to expect from a Scorsese movie starring DeNiro. But one strange aspect is that the film looks to be keeping with the current trend of making old actors young again. Such as Samuel L. Jackson in Marvel's recent mega-hit Captain Marvel and Carrie Fischer's Princess Leia in the recent-ish Star Wars spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Usually, I find the method to be slightly creepy, and this trailer does nothing to change that. But that said, it looks to be handled with a better hand here than I've seen before. So that's good.

As you will see in a minute once you have the chance to check out the teaser trailer for yourself, this footage is mostly about the above-mentioned trio of Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino. Which, you know, makes sense and everything considering this is a movie about their characters. I just wanted a better look at some of the other members of the killer cast including Bobby Cannavale (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Harvey Keitel (The Last Temptation of Christ), Ray Romano (yes, THAT Ray Romano), and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, Fargo, Black Mirror). While this first teaser trailer leaves the rest of the cast in the shadows, we do get a pretty good look at Anna Paquin as Robert DeNiro's wife - even if she doesn't get to speak.

For those of you out there (like me) that might not know, Martin Scorses' The Irshman is based on a nonfiction book called I Heard You Paint Houses by a dude named Charles Brandt. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Exodus: Gods and Kings screenwriter Steven Zaillian penned the adaptation which Netflix paid a whopping $125 million to produce. The film tells the tale of the man responsible for the death of the legendary Jimmy Hoffa (played in this film by Al Pacino). That man is Frank Sheeran (played by DeNiro), and the hit is ordered by Pennsylvania mob boss Russell Bufalino (played by Joe Pesci).

As mentioned above, The Irishman will be hosting its World Premiere at the New York Film Festival on September 27, 2019. The film is then set to have a theatrical release later this year before it's officially unleashed to the masses over on Netflix by the end of this year. Meanwhile, this teaser trailer comes to us from Netflix over on YouTube.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Trailer Arrives, Tom Hanks Is Mister Rogers

Sony Pictures Entertainment has just released the first trailer for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood with Tom Hanks going full Mister Rogers. In several sneak peek images of Hanks in character prior to the trailer's release, it was already apparent his casting as real-life children's entertainer Fred Rogers was a perfect choice. Now, we officially have confirmation of that, as Hanks absolutely nails Rogers' persona in the new trailer. Prepare to feel nostalgic as you check out the trailer below.

While the story of the movie is centered around Mister Rogers, the entertainer is not the protagonist. It's important to note that this is not exactly a biopic for Fred Rogers, but how he was able to greatly affect those around him. Based on true events, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood follows cynical magazine writer (inspired by Rogers' friend and journalist Tom Junod) who's given the task of writing a story about Rogers. In the process of doing so, he strikes up a friendship with the TV star, ultimately learning to overcome his skepticism and learns about kindness, empathy, and decency from America's most beloved neighbor.

There are several talented names in the cast featured alongside Tom Hanks for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Emmy-winning actor Matthew Rhys (The Americans) stars as Lloyd Vogel, the journalist based on Tom Junod. Also starring in the movie are Susan Kelechi Watson (This Is Us), Chris Cooper (Adaptation), Enrico Colantoni (Travelers), Maryann Punkett (The Family Fang), and Tammy Blanchard (Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows). Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) is directing, using a screenplay written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster. Marc Turtletaub, Peter Saraf, and Youree Henley are producing.

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is undoubtedly one of the most well-known children's shows of all time. Its roots date all the way back to the early '60s, with the show first premiering on CBS Television in 1962 under the simpler name Misterogers. By 1966, he had moved the series to the United States, changing its name to the title we all know and love. As the world's greatest and most lovable neighbor, Rogers appeared on the series as himself to teach his brand of kindness and empathy to children. The show ran until 2001, but the animated spin-off Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood was later launched in 2012 with an opening theme song heavily inspired by the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood theme. Sadly, Fred Rogers passed away in 2003, but through Daniel Tiger and now this new movie from Marielle Heller, his legacy clearly continues to live on.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood will be released in theaters everywhere on Nov. 22, 2019. By featuring Tom Hanks in the role of Fred Rogers, this could very well be the most wholesome movie ever. Let's all hope it does Mister Rogers proud, and chances are, it's going to make us all miss the real Fred even more. The official trailer comes to us courtesy of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Terminator Dark Fate R-Rated Sneak Peek from Comic-Con Arrives

Tim Miller and James Cameron have officially confirmed that Terminator: Dark Fate will be R-rated. In addition, Paramount Pictures has released a behind-the-scenes featurette, which shows off some brand-new footage. Some of said footage was shown off today during the Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con and those in attendance were floored by what they saw. Miller and Cameron decided to take the franchise somewhere new, while keeping the roots planted firmly in the past with the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Edward Furlong.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is definitely a fan of Terminator: Dark Fate receiving an R-rating, as he proved at San Diego Comic-Con. He actually blames some of the failure of past Terminator movies on the fact that the studio pushed for a PG-13 rating in an attempt to get more people in theaters. However, James Cameron and Tim Miller never thought about anything else other than a proper R-rating for the highly anticipated sequel. And from the looks of things, the movie really earned the R-rating. Even the behind-the-scenes action is full of foul language from Miller and Linda Hamilton, while the footage of the actual movie is brutally violent.

The Dark Fate featurette is full of never-before-seen Terminator footage as shown at SDCC. Shots of Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor decimating Terminators with a rocket launcher and some grenades is one of the better things you'll see all day. Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 taking a mini-gun to Diego Luna's Terminator's face is another epic moment. Luna's character doesn't even react as he goes back to stare the T-800 in the face before presumably retaliating.

Many fans were hoping we'd get the second Terminator: Dark Fate trailer today, but that sadly was not the case. With that being said, the featurette is a great consolation prize because of the unseen footage, and we also got a Dark Fate Comic-Con poster. Our second real look at the movie will be coming soon since the movie opens up in November, which is just right around the corner. For now, we have an excellent first trailer and the new featurette to tide us over while we wait for our first look at Edward Furlong as John Connor. It's not clear if he'll be in the next trailer, but the cat is out of the bag with that casting secret now.

Tim Miller and James Cameron wanted to throw the rule book out the window while making Terminator: Dark Fate and it sounds like they did, while having a great time while doing so. Miller says that the sequel is "relentless," and he appears to be right on in that assumption. We'll just have to wait and see if the fans agree when the movie hits theaters on November 1st. You can check out the Terminator: Dark Fate behind-the-scenes featurette below, thanks to the Paramount Pictures YouTube channel.

Cats Trailer Arrives, Taylor Swift and Idris Elba Are Fierce Felines

We, at long last, have the first trailer for Cats. This serves as the long-awaited movie adaptation of the legendary and incredibly popular Broadway musical. But can such a thing translate well to the big screen? Universal Pictures intends to find out, and they've lined up an all-star cast in front of the camera, which includes Taylor Swift and Idris Elba, in addition to Oscar-winner Tom Hooper (The King's Speech) behind the camera. And, yep, it sure looks like all of these actors and music stars are playing cats alright.

Before the Comic-Con trailer arrived, buzz started to generate online for Cats when a featurette which recently made its way online, was played at CinemaCon. To the amazement of everyone, though perhaps not surprisingly, the movie will be turning all of these actors into actual cat-sized cats using cutting edge technology. They've even built massive, detailed sets that allow for someone like Rebel Wilson to dance on a table and have her look to be the size of a house cat. What's more amazing is how very seriously everyone seems to be taking it when this is, in fact, a movie about cats.

Related: Cats Movie Gets Taylor Swift, Ian McKellen and Jennifer Hudson

In any event, Universal Pictures has pulled out all the stops for this one while showing us the trailer during Comic-Con. Aside from the respected Tom Hooper, the team behind the scenes also includes several additional Oscar nominees and winners. The crew consists of production designer Eve Stewart (The King's Speech), cinematographer Christopher Ross (Room), costume designer Paco Delgado (The Danish Girl), sound mixer Simon Hayes (Les Miserables), executive music producer Marius De Vries (Moulin Rouge) and casting director Lucy Bevan (Murder on the Orient Express).

The full cast is equally impressive. It includes James Corden (Ocean's 8), Judi Dench (Skyfall), Idris Elba (Hobbs & Shaw), Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings), Rebel Wilson (Isn't It Romantic) and introduces Francesca Hayward, principal dancer of the Royal Ballet, in her debut feature. Not to mention having several very successful musicians on board in the form of Jason Derulo, Jennifer Hudson and Taylor Swift.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical remains one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history. The story, in short, centers on a tribe of Jellicle Cats who, on a moonlit evening, must make the "Jellicle choice" to decide which of them will ascend to the mysterious Heaviside Layer to be reborn. Webber based the show on T.S. Eliot's collection of poems, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. The show has been performed just shy of 9,000 times since its debut in 1981. It also took home seven Tony Awards in 1983, and, rather amazingly, won the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award not once, but twice, first in 1982 and once again in 2015.

La La Land helped to cement musicals as something that can be highly profitable in the modern Hollywood landscape. But can this work for the average moviegoer? It's going to be fascinating to see how this all plays out. Be sure to check out the new trailer for yourself. Cats is set to pounce into theaters on December 20 from Universal Pictures.

The King's Man Trailer Arrives, Ralph Fiennes Is the First Kingsman

In 2020, they will become kings. 20th Century Fox has released the debut trailer and teaser poster for upcoming film The King's Man. As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King's Man.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, The King's Man comes to theaters February 2020. This Kingsman prequel invites fans to discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency through the eyes of one man (Ralph Fiennes) who must race against time to stop a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds who gather to plot a war to wipe out millions. And that sure as hell looks like Watchman and The Killing Joke author Alan Moore mixed in there!

Related: Kingsman 3 Is Still Being Planned by Original Director Matthew Vaughn

The King's Man is a cleverly titled prequel to Matthew Vaughn's sleeper hit Kingsman: The Secret Service starring Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, Taron Egerton, and Michael Caine. The secret agent spoof already saw the release of a sequel in 2017 with Vaughn's Kingsman: The Golden Circle. That follow-up featured Firth, Egerton, and Strong joining forces with Halle Berry, Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges to take down Julianne Moore. It was not as well-received as the original movie.

But all the same, from here the series is planned to continue ever forward with Kingsman 3 starring Colin Firth and Taron Egerton. And Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, and Halle Berry are all set to reprise their roles from Kingsman: The Golden Circle in the American spin-off Statesman. I don't know about all these other Kingsman movies, but a Statesman standalone motion picture is something I'd definitely be up for checking out. And not just because I'm, you know, an American.

But back to the nuts and bolts of this Kingmans prequel, The King's Man. Ralph Fiennes stars in this prequel as T.E. Lawrence along with Harris Dickinson as Conrad, Liam Neeson as Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener, Daniel Brühl as Felix Yusupov, Rhys Ifans as Grigori Rasputin, Gemma Arterton as Mata Hari, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Lee Unwin. Charles Dance joins them as Field Marshall Haig, along with Matthew Goode as Tristan, Tom Hollander as George V / Wilhelm II / Nicholas II, Djimon Hounsou as Neil Kenlock, Stanley Tucci as Merlin, Alison Steadman as Guinevere, Robert Aramayo as Gavrilo Princip, Alexandra Maria Lara as Polly, and Joel Basman as Gawain.

Like every other The Kingsman movie, this new flick is directed by Matthew Vaughn, who also produced from a screenplay written by Karl Gajdusek based on the comic book by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. Henry Jackman will provide this film with its score while Ben Davis handles cinematography, and Jon Harris edits it all together. 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, and Marv Studios are the powers that be behind this prequel which Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will unleash into a theater near you on Valentine's Day 2020.

Charlie's Angels Reboot Teaser Arrives, Full Trailer Coming Tomorrow

We have our first little taste of the upcoming Charlie's Angels reboot. And we do mean little. Sony Pictures has released a very brief teaser for this continuation of the franchise, which doesn't give us a whole lot, in itself. It does, however, promise that a trailer is coming down the pipeline in the very near future, which will give us our first proper look at the new Angels in action. For now though, we're still left to wonder what this is going to look like.

The teaser is just a symbol for the Townsend agency with a catchy little tune playing in the background. The word "uploading" appears below the symbol, which seems to be alluding to the forthcoming trailer. Beyond that, we've got very little to go on when it comes to what to expect from the trailer, as this doesn't provide us with even a shred of actual footage from Elizabeth Banks' take on the classic and iconic 70s series.

While it's promised that the trailer is coming tomorrow, we will be getting something a bit sooner. It was revealed that a "first look" will be showcased on Entertainment Tonight this evening. They didn't specifically say what that first look will consist of though.

Elizabeth Banks, who previously helmed Pitch Perfect 2, is in the director's chair for the reboot. The new cast includes Kristen Stewart (Twilight, Personal Shopper), Naomi Scott (Power Rangers, Aladdin) and newcomer Ella Balinska. A photo of the trio together was released online a while back, but we've still yet to actually see them in action. Previously, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore portrayed the trio in a pair of movies directed by McG in the early 2000s. Though, it sounds very much like this is going to be a pretty big departure from what we were provided with the better part of two decades ago.

Charlie's Angels centers on a trio of agents who are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend. In this new take on the classic, his security and investigative agency has expanded its reach internationally. With the world's smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women placed all over the world, there are now teams of Angels who are partnered up with multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs in any location necessary. Elizabeth Banks will be playing one of the new versions of Bosley, with Djimon Hounsou (Shazam) and Patrick Stewart (Logan) portraying two others.

Elizabeth Banks, in addition to starring in and directing the movie, also penned the screenplay. Needless to say, she's been busy. Banks was working from a story cooked up by Evan Spiliotopoulos and David Auburn. Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) and Sam Claflin (Me Before You) also star. Charlie's Angels, after having its release date shuffled around several times, is set to arrive in theaters on November 15. We'll be sure to bring the trailer your way tomorrow. In the meantime, be sure to check out the teaser video from the Charlie's Angels Twitter account below.
